Update on the pineapple were want to grow for an indoor plant. After cutting all but a few inches of the flesh off the fruit, we put the pineapple top in a dark, warm location and poured some water down the leaves every couple days.
Once the bottom looked like it had callused over we then planted it into this really cool old pail that sits inside this great old wash tub. The pail has three holes in the bottom for drainage. We plan to add some other artsy type stuff in the old tub over time. We will also try a different way of starting an indoor pineapple plant and report the results here. The other way we have been told about is similar, but worth mentioning. Stay tuned :)
